Instructions

Following these steps will improve your chances of being selected as a scholarship recipient:

  • Complete and return application as soon as possible. The application deadline (postmark) will be April 5, 2024 (9:00 pm PDT - electronic).
  • Scholarship awards are based on the applicant’s GPA, Work Experience and Leadership Qualities, with a possible total of 100 points. Failure to complete one or more sections of the application will disqualify your application.
  • Use the space provided, and be as concise as possible. Within reason, additional information may be included on supplemental sheets (PDF version).
  • Recipients of the scholarship awards will be notified by the Association by May 31, 2024. Funds will be sent to the scholastic institutions within five weeks of the start of the school year. All applicants will receive notification by mid-June, 2024.

Eligibility

All Direct members in good standing with the Pacific Northwest Grain & Feed Association:

  • Immediate family members of a Direct member.
  • Employee and/or a legal dependent of a Direct member.
  • Owner/Patrons, or their legal dependents, of a Direct member firm. Current PNWGFA Direct member will be updated on this website.
  • All candidates must have received a letter of acceptance or be enrolled in an accredited college, university or community college.
  • Consideration will be given to, but not limited to students who have chosen a career in some area of agriculture, business, home economics or vocational education.
  • Applicants may only be awarded a PNWGFA Scholarship once; previous winners not eligible again.

Selection Process

  • The scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, demonstrated leadership, extracurricular accomplishments, work experience and an evaluation by a counselor or advisor.
  • All recipients must enter school no later than the fall term following the announcement of the financial award.
